Mike Rockholt bought CJ's Custom Meats in 1994. With the bulk of work coming from local custom butcher orders and game processing, the shop is very busy from Labor Day through the Winter. However, come Summer, orders slow, and Mike found himself laying off employees. In an effort to keep his crew employed, Mike started making and taking jerky and pepperoni sticks to markets. Settling in and growing with the Moses Lake Farmers Market, Mike and business partner Mo, found opportunity within the community and surrounding areas. After 20 years at the market, they opened CJ's Custom Meats in Moses Lake in 2023, where you can purchase all of the fresh and smoked cuts available through the butcher shop, plus many other quality local products to accompany your protein purchases.
